The Lyric Theatre Singers perform a full repertoire of Broadway show music harmoniously presented in a perfect blend of the nostalgic and the modern. Ranging from Cole Porter to Andrew Lloyd Webber and beyond, the 45-member troupe has been thrilling audiences since their premiere performance in 1990. The program can be tailored to fit the requirements of the presenter, be it a full choir to suit a gala convention, the intimate setting of dinner theatre or rousing fund raising event. The Lyric Theatre Singers are an offshoot of the Lyric Theatre, which has since 1965, produced the best semi-professional Broadway musical plays in the Montreal area.

Repertoire
The Lyric Theatre Singers perform throughout the year at benefits, private or public functions and conventions. During the Christmas season, they present a complete range of Christmas carols, ancient and contemporary, as well as popular seasonal music.

Past performances include medleys and selected songs from Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera, Notre Dame de Paris, My Fair Lady, The Wiz, The King and I, Showboat West Side Story, Miss Saigon, Company, Blood Brothers, The Man of La Mancha, Rent, Sweeney Todd, Evita, Camelot, A Little Night Music, Oklahoma, Crazy For You, Porgy and Bess, Jesus Christ Superstar and many, many more.

Accomplishments
This award-winning group were first place winners (Chorus 2001) in the popular music category at L'international de l'art vocal de Trois Riviéres in June of 2001 and were guest artists at ChaNteauguay Music Festival, International Music Festival at Trois Riviéres and have been associated with the prestigious ARCIM Choral Competition - placing first in the advanced competition. The group has performed for both album and commercial work. The Singers recorded their "With A Song in My Heart" (a Broadway Collection) in October of 2001.

Engagements
The Lyric Theatre Singers have received rave reviews throughout Quebec and in the United States for their exciting and memorable performances. Some recent engagements include: The city of Montreal at its popular Theatre de la Verdure presented in Lafontaine Park, guest artists at Andre Turp Foundation Christmas Gala, Heart and Music fundraising concert in partnership with RECLAIM non-profit organization for literacy advance, fundraising concert to benefit Kahnawake "All Stars" Youth Theatre, fundraiser for the Jewish Nursing Association, Montreal Association for the Blind, Lakeshore Players Café and guest artists at Ogilvy's Cancer Benefit in November of 2001.

I learned of this group via a live concert done witn and in support of a local children's chorus. They are good! The CD was done by an earlier ensemble, but is just as well worth listening to. Enjoy!
