Lys Guillorn's music and vocal is a bit gloomy and sad, but sertenly not depressing. I actually find the songs and music very beautiful composed. The instruments work really good with her voice. Keep it up Lys Guillorn, I would like to hear more!

On this outing Lys Guillorn has produced a collection of superbly crafted songs that fuse vivid, cinematic lyrics with an uncommon melodic sensibility. Vocally, she shares a kinship to venerable predecessors like Sandy Denny and Suzanne Langille, with comparable emotional complexity and heft. However, unlike such stellar exemplars, she exhibits a poly-stylistic tendency in her songwriting that draws upon and re-shapes many facets of rock and roll, and of American traditional music as well. As with Tom Waits, she need not shoot music videos; like Waits at his best, her songs are videos, with little need of further adornment. Alt.country, with a smoldering intensity beneath; buy two.
