Hailing from the Dominican Republic and now residing in NYC, M-16's debut full-length is loaded with explosive metal-core riffs, powerful drums, groove heavy bass & assaulting dynamic vocals. The music is a gut reaction to the hard reality of life in the modern world, a shedding of weakness and pain, a trial by fire from which the listener will then emerge with an indestructible spirit.
"Rawer than a side of beef on a butcher block. Fans of Madball, Puya, Sepultura and Ill Nino will find themselves banging their heads to the bloody grooves and blinding thrash of M-16" - Rockpile

M-16 "Canciones Escritas En El Exilio"
M-16 (their named derived from a special sawed off shotgun used to propel molotov cocktails as coined in Che Guevara's book entitled Guerilla Warfare) is blowing up the scene with their heavy, hard edged and charged sound. made up of a hardcore sound blended with a gritty and dark aggro tint, M-16's sound is unmistakable, unrelenting and unappologetic for its blunt force bass, grinding guitars driving percussion and rage instilled vocals. This three piece unit originating from Santo Domingo and relocating to New York City to find an outlet for their brand of music, has struggled to make a name for themselves and the outcome of their struggle comes across in the raw aggression in their music. From track one ("Sentimientos Rotos" translated "Rotting Sentiments") the tone is set, heavy fast and aggressive, ranting and exposing the empty emotions of a deceitful girl, to the crys of liberty and angst of an oppressed people in "Raza." Also included on this ten track disc is an absolutely amazing cover of the Doors classic "strange days" adn two ripping live cuts ("Ripped" and "Lloviendo" translation "Raining") recorded at NYC's famed CBGB's. CANCIONES ESCRITAS EN EL EXILIO does not fail to fule and set blaze the speakers with a charged sound any fan of hard edge music will apperciate, no matter the race, after all music knows know boundaries.
