Macarone serves as the producer of most of the D.O.P Inc. tracks. Macarone also writes and performs as one of the solo acts of D.O.P Inc. Records. Mac uses a cool mix of smooth and ruff in his delivery and writing style and has been known to be unique! Mac is the founder of D.O.P Inc Records and the glue that holds it together. Mac has released several underground CD's for D.O.P Inc. Records and has recently released his latest solo effort, Life's Sentence. Life's Sentence features 11 hot tracks including "My Gurlfrind is a Thug", "Heaven Sake", "Hello Kitty" and "Catch A Case". Also featured on Life's Sentence are LowDown Da Grinch, Loon-E of C9H, PhishBone, Joe Whyte, Ms. Juanita and more!!
D.O.P Inc Records was formed in 1997 in Mac's kitchen. "This is where we had to set it up" Mac laughs, "It was either the kitchen or the bathroom". When Mac first started D.O.P Inc Records he was a member of the group "NuttHouse". NuttHouse had a pretty successful run during the groups best times. Once NuttHouse broke up in 1998 Macarone decided to keep the D.O.P Inc thing going so he continued to work with NuttHouse group members LowDown and Trashman. LowDown was able to put out 2 underground CD's and Trashman aka Lil Mac had a great run when he teamed up with St. Louis native Lil Cin to form the group Half Pound. Half Pound only did one CD but it was a good one. "The Propaganda Album" is a OC/Washington ST classic.
As we look into the D.O.P Inc. future we look forward to everyone enjoying the solo venture from Macarone. "Life's Sentence." Is a heartfelt letter from Macarone. On the CD Macarone dabbles in Rock, Reggae, Funk and R&B. The CD begins with Macarone speaking to his cousin and other people trapped in the system on "Dear Brother". With a beat Produced by T of 6Point Productions this song sets the tone for Macarone's depth. The title track "Life's Sentence." mixes Mac's smooth and ruff style with the reggae flow of Mr. RedEye. A very political song has several highlights when it comes to lyrics but a personal favorite is when Mac screams "F-you George, F-you Dick, you both sick/Lie to make war, the kids they ain't yours". Macarone definately hit the spot on this one and he also produced this track. "My GurlFrind iz a Thug" beleive it or not is a tribute to the independent woman!! When the hard WestCoast beat first bangs through your speaker you may pause, but yes this is for the independent woman. Mac spits: "She's fresh, she's clean, she looks so mean/In a business suit or skin tight jeans/She handles her biz, got her own crib/Got her own truck on 20 inch rims".
Life's Sentence is a very unique CD. Very WestCoast but definately not just!!
