Album Notes

Marc Macisso was born and raised in Portland, Maine. At the age of 10, influenced by his older brother who played guitar, Marc also began to study the guitar. By Junior High School, he was in a local garage band playing all the hits by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. At 16, Marc was discovered by the high school music teacher playing harmonica in the hallways at school. He was recruited into the high school band, where he quickly learned to play the flute, clarinet and saxophone.
Marc went on to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Music. It was while at Berklee that he acquired his love and skill for playing jazz. After graduating, Marc headed to Los Angeles, where he still resides today.

Over the past few decades, Marc’s sax, flute and harmonica have complimented many television shows, commercials, movies and albums. He has performed on albums by Bette Midler, Jessie Colin Young, guitarist Robyn Ford, and “Year of the Cat” Al Stewart, with whom he'll be touring in Europe in the autumn of 2006. He’s appeared live with Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Stevie Winwood, Carole King, Chaka Kahn, Tito Puente, Billy Preston, Peter White, Sheena Easton, Michael McDonald, Dave Koz, The Rippingtons, Dionne Warwick, the Doobie Brothers any many others.

Marc’s soulful solos are currently featured on Discovery Channel’s American Casino. In addition to his own CDs, he also plays sax on singer/songwriter Jude Johnstone’s newly released album, On a Good Day. (Also appearing on Jude’s album with Marc are Bonnie Raitt, Rodney Crowell and Jackson Browne.)
