notes

Born January 19th in Eutaw, AL, to Mack & Hazel Davis, he is the eldest of nine children. After living in Eutaw for five years, the family relocated to Bessemer, AL, where he attended Carver Junior High and, later attended Dunbar Junior High. After completing Jr. High, he attended Jackson S. Abrams High School. There he sung in the school choir and started playing trumpet in the school band. He played 1st chair trumpet through graduation. Instead of attending Tuskegee University, where he had received a scholarship for trumpet, he chose the school of "Hard Knocks". He moved north to pursue his music career singing and playing trumpet, and, later, learned to play bass and write songs.

He played and sung all over the Midwest...places like Chicago, Rock Island, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. After moving back down south, he started a Band called Mixed Company. His band became the moving-grooving force behind Sir Charles Jones for two years, doing shows with B. B. King, Little Milton, Tyrone Davis, Denise LaSalle, Willie Clayton, The Manhattans, Mel Waiters, Wilson Meadows, Shirley Brown, Marvin Cease and many more. He decided to go out on his own after "learning the ropes", recording his first CD..."BETTER MAN". He has become a dynamic entertainer, rocking audiences everywhere!!!!!!!!
