With his genuine combination of American soul and upbeat rock-and-roll, Matt MacKelcan has emerged from Orlando as one of the most enigmatic and engaging front men in the City Beautiful ever-expanding music scene.
As his popularity is spreading throughout Florida and the Southeast, Matt’s sophomore CD, “No Turning Back” is due for release Sept. 8., and the album was produced by two-time Dove Award nominee Randall Shreve. The singer/songwriter will hit the road with the Matt MacKelcan Band for a tour immediately following the long-awaited release.
No strangers to large crowds of dedicated fans, the Matt MacKelcan Band was a featured act on the main stage in front of more than 4,000 people at the 2006 Florida Music Festival, a widely celebrated event hosting the biggest up-and-coming independent acts from the Southeast. Matt has also performed in front of more than 12,000 rowdy college students at annual Citrus Bowl football tailgates.
While building his reputation as the hardest working musician in Florida, Matt has received recognition by Singer Songwriter of America as the 2005 Male Vocalist of the Year. He has shared the stage with Howie Day, Matt Nathanson, Donavon Frankenreiter, Will Hoge and the Samples to name a few. The band has also been picked up for a compilation CD to be released later in Sept. Matt has received sponsorships from Martin Guitars and Strings, as well as Topo Ranch clothing.
Matt is backed by an exceptional band of established musicians, featuring Jeremy Katalenic, Dave Whittaker, and Chris Floyd, who is a Lace guitar endorsee and is formerly of hugely successful indie act Big Sky.
