I have been a banjo player for 30 years now and am finally getting the hang of it. The hammered dulcimer has been a love of mine for the past 20 or so years. With the two of them, I have had the opportunity to travel most of the US and journey to 15 different countries.
As a solo performer I have played weddings, funerals, concerts in schools, libraries,coffeehouses, concert halls, town greens and corporate gatherings. I would be hard pressed to think of a venue that I haven't seen

First saw Tom playing with Woods Tea Company at the Irish Festival in Watertown, NY. I bought their CD, and, on a hunch, picked up this one. It is now one of my all-time favorites, amid several other popular and not-so-popular genres. I'll never be more than a year from hearing it; if I've neglected it for any amount of time, it is guaranteed to spin in my stereo at the year's first snowfall. "Half Creek" reminds me of a snow castle I once explored as a child visiting Saranac Lake. Props to the piano player for not clobbering the featured instrument. One of those rare discs that compels you to hunt down the rest of the artist's discography. Don't miss his banjo playing either. World class.
