Alessandro Madaluni, pianist, composer, arranger.
His interests and studies are mainly focused on improvised music, as well as written music by great masters and composers of all times (present and past).
He considers improvisation as an impromptu, impossible to edit, composition.
He considers music has a means not an end, trying to build a communication channel with the audience, believing that music can succed where words fail.
"Improvisation is born with music. In the beginning musicians were taught composition and instrumental technique at the same time. Then something happened..., and the two careers were separated. That's a pity"
La Luce di Mizar it's his first project as a leader, recorded live on 2nd January 1996, together other three musicians, and then put in the drawer.
In this CD you will hear a quartet performing:
Alessandro Madaluni: Piano
Javier Girotto: Soprano sax
Stefano Cantarano: Upright Bass
Tommaso Tozzi: Drums
Songs were written for this ensamble in one week.
This is not a studio recording, it's completely live, where no editing is possible, so what you hear is what you get, pure feelings, emotions and interplay.
Hope you will enjoy what happened that magic night.
