Album Notes

Gonna' Plant A Garden is about the things kids think about and the things about kids that parents think about. Ten of the eleven tracks feature ukulele as the rhythm and/or lead instrument. I play and sing all the parts and the songs reflect my years of experience with children and with music.

I have played and performed music all my life. I was classically trained at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and Dalcroze School in New York, but folk music was always a main influence. Over the years I learned many instruments; piano, accordion, dulcimer, but when I discovered ukulele I knew I had found my greatest passion. I credit Iz for this discovery and Woody Guthrie for inspiring me to write childrens music.

I live in Central Florida where I have been a recording artist and member of numerous local bands. My music is an extension of my belief that children need to be listened to, reassured, understood, educated, protected, nurtured, encouraged, respected and loved. It is my greatest joy to share my music and my greatest success is to hear children singing my songs.
