Album Notes

SO...who the heck are these guys? (I hear you asking) Well, MADHOUSE is an Orlando based, original pop/rock group. That is the short answer to the question...

MADHOUSE is Anthony Altino (guitar & lead vocals), Bobby Brennan (acoustic & electric bass and vocals), Jamie McKenna (percussion and vocals), Brian Petras (keyboards) and Mark Kiser (drums). Their music falls loosely under the heading of ”pop” but is really a unique blend of many musical styles such as rock, folk, latin, country and swing. The music is very upbeat, saturated with extremely catchy hooks and lyrics that often tell stories with a decidedly "tongue in cheek" flare. At times it sounds a little "retro" but at others much more contemporary. Groups that have been influential to their style are Barenaked Ladies, Dave Matthews, XTC, The Beatles, Crowded House, They Might Be Giants and Elvis Costello, just to name a few. Their music’s energy seems to jump right off their CDs as you play them. You're gonna want to use this in place of any of those antidepressants you've been taking! THIS music is the antidote to all of that dark, angst ridden, brooding and whiney music you will find out there today without becoming overly sentimental or sappy. MADHOUSE is just plain FUN!!! The band's live shows are quite a spectacle to behold, with loads of antics, props and peculiar dance moves. These guys are not just musicians...they are entertainers! The music is delivered with energy and musicianship to spare, and the audience is always made to feel they are part of the show.

MADHOUSE performed at the Orlando based portions of the 2002 and 2003 Academy Awards as well as at the opening of Austin Powers "Goldmember" at Universal Studios (yeah baby!). MADHOUSE opened for The Kinks and A Flock of Seagulls at the Hard Rock Hotel "Velvet Sessions" as well as Six Pence None the Richer at SunFest 2003. MADHOUSE also played at Hard Rock Live in September 2005 to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims.

MADHOUSE’s upcoming CD release “UNDERMEDICATED” will be available July 2008! BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE BAND'S CHRISTMAS CD "DRUNKEN SNOWMEN" RIGHT HERE ON CD BABY!

Dial M for MADHOUSE - is Maddeningly Entertaining

One of the guys in the group got me interested in their music and I'm glad he did. The Songs are Original and Entertaining. I found myself tapping my foot and moving to the rhythm from the very first track. (Well Actually Track 2 - since tack one is a sound bite of Charlton Heston from the Planet Of The Apes!!) Anyway, the enjoyment of the music lasted through the entire CD. I wish these guys would consider coming to Ohio to do a concert - I would definitely attend!! This is one CD I will let my friends listen to and when they ask me to make them a copy, I'll tell them to go online to C D Baby and buy their own!! Thanks to all the guys in the band for some very enjoyable music!!!

I love this CD and the other work this band has produced. I've seen them live

I was very fortunate to be around the lead singer/gutiar player on a daily bases for a while. I love the fact that some of the songs on the new CD will be the thoughts Anthony walked around singing to us before they became a song. Ordinary Girl is my favorite song and Not my Day can relate to everyone. The band is GREAT and live ... even better. I think the college tour is a good idea, they sing and perform with as much energy as that age group. Can't wait for the new CD .....!
