What some of the Mad Maggies' fans have to say:
I absolutely LOVE your music! Maggie's voice is so of another era... Don't you just want to rub it all over your face? -- L. Baker-Foley
"There's rhythms that make you want to get up and dance and a kind of sadness ... clowns and carnivals and all that they conjure -- gay darkness, whimsical gravity..." -- D. Clarke
"Serious musicians having some serious fun." -- C. Vaquero
"It's like old time music done by well-trained performers who aren't showing off." -- A. Hills
Composer/singer/accordionist Maggie Martin is responsible for this musical mayhem of accordion, sax, trombone, tuba, trumpet, guitars and percussion, whipping up pleasingly unusual, dance-inducing tunes in a startling array of styles. Martin has been playing music for a lifetime and loves nothing more than to write tunes, wrangle musicians, and sing her heart out. Her long list of credits include 13 years as squeeze artist with Polkacide, San Francisco's one and only hardcore polka band and writing and directing for "Mixed Company," a mixed media performing arts ensemble active for five years in the Bay Area.
Maggie Martin is joined by:
Johny Blood: tuba
Billy Dee Boom: drums & percussion
J.J. Davis: vocals
John Hensley: trumpet, Pujé, cornets
Lawrence Jarach; trombone
J.X. Jones: sax
Lewis Wallace: bass guitar
Gary Wium: guitars

I am addicted to this cd! Who is Daniel O'Meara? a relative??
author: susan o'mara campau
I am in a quandary. I just cannot get enough of this cd.
While I write letters in my office, I listen to it. When
I drive in my car, I listen to it. Try as I may not to
listen to it....I do indeed, still listen to it. Can you
help me. Please tell me why I am in love with this music.
My own answer would be that it is fun fun fun fun. It
touches me in special places that died a long time ago
and are now reborn. What does that mean??? Shed some
light on me, please. It is somewhere deep inside of me.
It makes me want to dance and move. What could be better? Thank you.

Polka Rock At Its Best
author: Daniel O'Meara
This album is essentially a collection of accordion music that seems to be traditional, but played in a modern, rock-like feel. The energy exuded by the performances is infectious and dangerously smile inducing. The average music fan will probably know if polka rock does or does not sound appealing to them. If it does, this is as good as you're likely to ever find without a weak track on the entire disc. I highly recommend Crazed and Enthused.
