Album Notes

The Same Mistakes is an album about losering and great expectations. Its charcoal dark themes are as cold as the ocean. Its honesty and lack of clarity reek of sticky coastal bars. This type of sonic sex is best served with medication and when falling in and out of love.

The Same Mistakes was recorded in December 2006 on the outskirts of Portland Maine at the Halo. It was produced, recorded and mixed by Jonathan Wyman (As Fast As, Ray Lamontagne, Pete Kilpatrick). The disc features Dan Crean (Semi Precious Weapons) on drums, Haché Horchatta (As Fast As) on bass and Karl Anderson (Kingpin Wrecking Crew) playing keys. It was mastered by Adam Ayan at Gateway Mastering Portland Maine.

Hypnotic and Addicting

At first, I wasn\'t sure about Joshua Madore\'s voice, but then suddenly I was hooked, and I realize there is no other voice that could possibly give these songs the breezy, whispery, melancholic and incredibly sexy aura that Joshua\'s voice does. I love the rough, imperfect, quiet desperation of these songs. This was one of the first CD\'s I listened to on cdbaby and it\'s my favorite so far (besides Camille Jaskson). I hope he stays unpolished and real.
