Album Notes

Velvety sax, sweet melodies, and beautifully crafted songs make up the foundation of Mark Allen Felton’s 4th CD, “I Do It For Love”.

With multiple layers of instrumentation accompanied by Felton’s trademark silky soprano saxophone and a natural instinct for keeping the groove. Felton is able to combine the technique of a virtuoso with the pure essence of emotion, all while constructing a well produced, hook-filled, Jazz/R&B CD that appeals to a wide demographic of fans.

Felton’s “I Do It For Love” gives the listener a certain peace of mind and transports them to a place of divine sensual tranquility. Making them feel as if they don't have a care in the world, no bills, money in their pocket, in love, and all they want to do is eat, drink, and be merry.

A mixture of 10 sexy, melodiously seductive tracks as well as two interludes “I Do It For Love” promises to put listeners in the mood for love.

“I Do It For Love” is a CD that doesn't hide Felton's emotion, but does the opposite. It opens a window to his soul. Providing the listener with a deep craving for it after a long arduous day. This is the brilliance of multi-talented Mark Allen Felton in action.

We’re very excited about this talented multi-faceted musician from Chicago... Saxophonist Mark Allen Felton is gaining a reputation as one of the smoothest players in the world. Influenced by musical greats such as Grover Washington Jr. and Earth, Wind & Fire. His sophisticated soprano also reminds me of Najee. I DO IT FOR LOVE is filled with originals that are both commercially appealing and jazz-packed. Mark’s exceptional playing earned him a scholarship to Texas Southern University in Houston where he performed in the jazz ensemble and local bands before forming Electric Storm, which co-featured Terry Ellis who went on to the super group En Vouge. Currently playing sax with Ray Parker Jr., Mark has shared the stage with a long list of renowned artists such as Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan, Kenny G and many more. I DO IT FOR LOVE is by far, one of the best Smooth Jazz albums of 2009… loaded with romance and seductive saxophone!
