Album Notes
Magda began singing at the age of 14 in the border town of Laredo, Texas. As her natural talent and passion for music developed, she began to sing for local bands, then orchestras, and then radio and television in San Antonio, Texas. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Magda pursued her career as lead singer of a Latin Jazz group, touring the U.S. After settling down in Los Angeles, California, Magda owned a nightclub where she made many contacts, some are featured on this CD.
This CD features Piano Greats Erik Ekstrand and Ricky Hernandez(Magda's nephew), Bill Higgins(Magda's son) on guitar, Bass Masters Simeon Pilage and Lavelle Houser, Drum Masters Frank Wilson and Lance Kellog, famed Tierra trumpeter Bobby Loya, "Wrighteous" Bill Wright on Sax and Clarinet, and Cuban Rhythm Master Ture Olivas.
For this offering Magda has written two heartfelt Christmas songs and the soulful "Come Live with Me" to complete this emotional journey.
"From her early days with Magda y los Magnifico's to her solo work, Magda is an artist who has always had a sense of melody, ability and soulful style for her musica. Her beautiful voice is forever passionate! The production and musicianship is outstanding...enjoy listening to this CD!"
