notes
"Ghost of a Living Twilight" is set outdoors. Sound effects sprinkled throughout the CD give the impression that you are sitting by a crackling fire, near a lake, watching a gorgeous Sunset. The experience of Twilight is a special time that captures the majesty and mystery of Nature. It has invoked the imagination for endless millennia, yet is still as haunting and inspiring as when first seen.
"Ghost of a Living Twilight" could be a soundtrack for such a moment. Each of the 13 tracks are distinctively flowing, ethereal in sound and feel. It reflects the spatial freedom of open thought. Lyrically, MagellanMusic explores various subjects in an almost philosophical manner. There is no angst, just a search for answers and the understanding of things we all deal with at one time or another.
"Ghost of a Living Twilight" clocks in at 60:52, features 8 lyrical songs, 5 instrumentals, and 2 cover songs (by Klaatu), all expressed in different genres. It's musically intriguing, lyrically enchanting, all within Progressive Rock bordering on New Age. It is a tribute to the wonders of Nature, to those who respect and nurture it's fragility, and to those who live and let live it's myriad inhabitants.

Fantastic!
author: AeroI can't say enough good things about this spectacular collection of rare and beautiful music. I also can't listen to it often enough. I did myself a HUGE favor by buying it!
Dark The Day makes this disc worth it!
author: Gary MaiulloI heard the song "Dark The Day" on Aural Moon. I ended up playing it over and over until the buffer ran out! This song alone makes it worth buying this CD. It's dark and moody, and beautifully haunting; a nice blend of Alice In Chains ("Rotten Apple") and Pink Floyd, and maybe a few other bits of influence to spice it up. I need to check out more by these guys!
Music for the soul
author: ArleneI happened upon MagellanMusic through the luck of fate. My first acquisition was 'Ghost of a Living Twilight' and it was rapture at first listen. I am about as far from a music aficianado as one can probably get. I know very little about the technical aspect. I do, however love music and have always been drawn towards music I can simply close my eyes to and listen with my heart, mind and soul. I am captivated by pieces that help me to paint a picture or envision a wonderful ballet or modern dance. Ghost most definitely accomplishes that. There are so many different layers to each of the songs. It has been impossible for me to ever get tired or feel bored by any of the tracks. The accoustical guitar on this album felt as if my own heartstrings were being played. Beginning with the very first instrumental piece, 'Drifting' I was drawn into this mystical and wondrous world and was able to escape into some breathtaking moments of pure serenity. There are several instrumental pieces on the CD, and each one takes me to a different place and time. The lyrics in all of the songs can, I am certain, be taken into any one person's life experience(s) at one time or another. They touch the heart, even the soul. In particular I was very drawn to 'Daydreams', 'Crying Inside', 'Season of Life' and 'Picture'. If you are a person who has a simple love for music that can reach out and touch you, this is a perfect CD.

I'm not exactly a music freak, but when I heard this CD I was really surprised. I spent some time with the main fellow in the band, and never once did he mention the band or even let me hear it; I had no idea that he was such a talented man. So, when I got a copy of this I had to ask him if he was really, actually a part of the band. I was so impressed that my wife and I listened to it so much that it was like house music. It's so relaxing and exquisite that we even play it quietly for our infant daughter; it has a tranquil effect on her too. We love this CD. We haven't loved a CD like this in a long time. I would tell anyone that it's worth having in your CD collection.
A Pleasurable Experience for the Soul!
author: Devlin ZacharyPerfection! This is truly their best. The music flows seamlessly from song to song, accented with sound effects that blend in rather than stand out. Lyrically enchanting, musically excellent, and beautifully recorded! This is a rarity: a CD that you can just leave in and listen to over and over... which I frequently do. Wonderful!

Normally I see to the publishing of several small newspapers and try to give as much space as I can to various artistic efforts, but personally, this CD was amazing. It is one of those that stopped me, I had to sit down and listen. It was beautiful. One just doesn't hear music like this today, almost a long gone style of music, nothing but bravery on the part of these players. I'm nothing but impressed and hoping for more.
Thoughtful and intelligent
author: Rena LassahnWhen I first heard this I wasn't sure what to think. Sometimes I get CD's and I'm burned out after a few listens, but this one wouldn't let go. I listened to it a few times, then discovered how excellent it was. Captivating. It made me listen. In it's own world, sort of, but very intelligent; worth listening to and not just hearing in the background. Musical environment was superb. Voices were sexy and luscious; the kind of sound perfect for a romantic evening that could last an entire night. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes music that really means something.
Where have they been all this time?
author: The SoundshopFunny how people spend too much time hunting for good sounds by Indies, but CD's like this make it all worthwhile. I haven't heard anything like this in years. I sat outside recently, enjoying a calm moment while listening, and it really gave me a whole new ambience. Gave me a feeling of comfort and looseness. At times it was almost too deep. It's moodiness seemed to relate an ironic, bittersweet happiness. And if that lush music was any smoother I could spread it on my bread. Great CD, and I look forward to more.
Too hard not to listen to...
author: Dusty Bowling Best Buy Co.Normally this style of music isn't 'my cup of tea', but I couldn't take it out of my CD player. It was haunting. I kept going back, listening closely, trying to figure out what it was that so captured my imagination. The melodies, the vocals, the music - it was a combination of velvet play and thoughtful introspection that created not just a style, but an entire world of it's own. Bands just don't play like this any more. And I truly wish they did.
Excellent. This band is awsome.
author: Terri CanovaThis band is out-of-this-world. Their music goes straight to my soul. I don't understand where they have been all this time, surely someone in the music industry must listen to this music and sign them to a recording contract. What a coo that would be. I have only the highest praise for their music, and consider myself extremely lucky to have had the chance to hear them. I hope that everyone will have a chance to hear them.
Magellan's "Ghost" the Best They've Ever Done!
author: Havel MediaThis CD is Magellan's best to date. The musicianship and vocal qualities are top-notch; the songwriting superb; the instrumentals are a wonderful augmentation to the lyrical compositions. From beginning to end, creates the mood of an ethereal twilight. Comparable to any big name band of the same musical style. Excellent. Even gives Pink Floyd a run for their money.
