Album Notes

The band Magnus Thorsen was formed in late 2005 by guitarist/vocalist Magnus Thorsen. Enlisting the aid of Osmose recording artist Russ Givens (Proscriptor McGovern of Absu), bassist Milos Obilic, guitarist Steven Rosas and ex-Axe keyboardist Edgar Riley, Jr., nine songs of epic heavy metal were recorded. Of those, five can be found on the recently released Valhalla Rising EP.

Really Fresh Metal With Deep Classical Roots. Not for the meek.

Met this this cat, Magnus, in St. Louis. He has an awesome presence and you can feel it in his vocals, which by the way are all his own on the album. The Astral Keyboard intro is a time warp to the early metal and the songs have some Maiden influences. If you like a driving double base and clear, rippin, riffs, you will savor this one. Sound and solid metal no fake power chords here. Two Axes Up.
