Review translated from German....poorly ; )
The Italians MAINPAIN deliver a sow-strong debut with its album “Food For Thoughts”. They absolutely used up themselves the 80er-Metal. Mixed with modern elements, this disk slams from the front to in the back. That mix from strong and in parts dark sound leaves open no desires. From time to time it becomes even somewhat doomig, before there is then again the full Thrash board. The salient voice of singer Ronnie settles in the Gehörgängen, and the whole album works like play joy purely. One marks young that they stand totally behind that, which they play. Nothing affects “Food For Thoughts” touched down.
Even if MAINPAIN straight again did not invent the Metal, then they sound nevertheless at any time fresh and authentic. And at pressureful production so some major act can cut itself a disk off. Each Banger, which stands on strong, dark Metal, should give a genuine chance to the album. Unfortunately sometimes regarding the publication flood often some beads go down to. And “Food For Thoughts” did not earn it to divide this fate. But have MAINPAIN too much potential, and hopefully also further with such geilen disks will spoil themselves.
Since it concerns with “Food For Thoughts” an own production, are not yet completely simple the CD to get. Best you contact young over her MySpace side.
There have you also the possibility of clean-listening in two TRACKs.

MAINPAIN 'FOOD FOR THOUGHT' (POWERZONE RECORDS/ROCK INC)
Italian band, with clearly an independent sound, although they have released their CD on a label (POWERZONE RECORDS). Despite the lack in sound quality, musically we get to hear classic 80s traditional melodic power metal with some modern aggressive riffs. The song "Running blood" is a very catchy tune, but like I said before there is some aggressiveness in there too, with some thrashy metal influences. The traditional melodic metal of MAINPAIN sounds damn good.
