Album Notes

About Majiken: Kenny Legendre came from the US to southwest Germany almost exactly 30 years ago, where love caused him to grow roots. He made a name for himself regionally as a singer and guitarist in various cover bands, simultaneously building a career as a manager for a global automobile manufacturer. That came to an end in 2007 with his decision to realize his dream and become a full-time musician. His performing name \"Majiken\" mixes two elements: his old nickname combined with his real name (\"Magic- Ken\"), as well as a tip of the hat to Yusuf Islam\'s last \"Majikat\" tour as Cat Stevens. Kenny\'s repertoire consists of pop, rock and folk classics from the 60s through today, nestled somewhere in between Yusuf/Cat Stevens, Paul Simon and David LaMotte. Majiken wants to meet you there- where musik touches the body and soul, setting both in motion; where Message and Groove unite in a capricious coexistence. Come along!

Majiken: This CD started as a solo project, but word spread like a brush fire and offers to contribute poured in. I am now both delighted and humbled to be able to present a compilation of David\'s songs by performers from around the world. For some, this is the first time to record in a studio; others represent the créme of the folk and singer/songwriter genre in Germany, America and Australia. We all share a deep appreciation for David LaMotte and his music. As David Wilcox says: „this tribute CD is our way of saying thanks for all the songs that will continue to play in our hearts and our hands.“ The music will continue to ring out and you, dear listener, are invited to join in.
