MALIK ALKABIR has attended Settlement Music School, Temple University and the Sahara School Of Music, mastering the tenor saxophone, flutes, clarinet and oboe.
MALIK has lectured and performed at Syracuse University, Ohio University, University of California, the American School in Tanger and Rabat, Morroco and Cultural Embassies in Tunisia and France.
MALIK has performed on radio and television throughout the United States (NET, ABC, CBS), in France (ORTF) and Morroco (RTM).
MALIK has performed and recorded with Alan Silva,
Major Harris, Peggy Lee, The Blue Notes, Don Patterson,
Sunny Murray and Anthony Braxton.
MALIK has also participated in the Villanova Jazz Festival, The Gent Advan't Garde Festival in Belgium, The Festival Of Chatelleraut and The Fete De Humanite in France, and the Doolon Jazz Festival in Holland.
MALIK's credits include 8 years of teaching music, computers and Black American History.
This musical production is a culmination of Love, life's experience and musical inspiration, drawing from the rich musical formats (styles) of traditional jazz, blues, rhythm & blues and Morrocain Folk Music.
