Amazing emerging talent, killer songs and backup band
author: dan flynn
Mallory has a style and talent far beyond her years, and this wonderful premiere CD has been a permanent part of my play list for months. Performing a full repertoire of great Bob Warren songs and having a killer studio band doesn't hurt, but her performances of these songs bring her own interpretation and personality to them. Mallory is also an amazing live performer, and has matured to a new level since this release. Buy the CD, catch her live - I can't wait for the next one!

jazzy and soulful, mallory can belt it out!
author: mark mindel
Mallory O'Donnell's debut CD JOY certainly is a joy to listen to. Mallory has a strong, soulful voice and she can really belt it out. Bob Warren's writing is well-suited for Mallory's jazzy tunes. "Clear Connection" is the centerpiece of the CD, and features the strong background of the Bob Warren band. Don Warren's lead licks are terrific, and Tony Markoulus's bass lines are strong. Bob's "Everything About You," written when his son left for college is actually a lovely ballad, generic to many relationships and Mallory hits it just right. Don Warren sets the tone on "Next Step is Easy" with a thrilling lead guitar and Mallory's interpretation of Bob's "done there, been that" play on words is wonderful. Mallory's accapella on "Underworld" makes you feel as if you're in an underwater cave. All in all there's not a bad song on the disk. Can't wait for her follow-up CD.

Young talent merged with an established unique style
author: Beth Tygert
Mallory's obvious talent combined with the artistry of Bob Warren's original style formed a diverse set of songs all of which bring out immense emotion. A few favorites include: When In Love, Someone Like You, and my ultimate favorite Everything About You. I will be using Everything About You at my wedding for the father-daughter dance in spite of the fact that it makes me cry each time I listen to it.
