Album Notes

People always tell the band that we should release a live album. They want the rowdy and raucous energy they get at our live shows. Well, it's finally here! Recorded live at the King Club in March of 2002, Delicious is off the hook baby!

That night at the King Club, Mama Digdown's was rollin' 10 deep with three trombones, two trumpets, three drummers, a sax and a sousaphone. Mama Digdown's Brass Band has never sounded bigger. Or tighter. Or more rowdy. For sure.

Featured on Delicious is Mama Digdown's WORLD FAMOUS TROMBONE SECTION. The three of them play some trombone parts on this record that will straight up make you laugh they are so sweet. No joke.

Delicious contains many of our most requested songs including "My Feet Can't Fail Me Now", "Hush Yo Mouth" and a slick little version of Bill Withers classic "Just the Two of Us." Also on this album is part II of "Word On The Street" by trombonist Nat McIntosh that is on it's way to becoming a brass band standard with many New Orleans brass bands.

Basically Delicious is quite Delicious. Buy one for yourself and one for the juke box of your favorite joint. It's that type of album.

REVIEWS

Skanky goodness, Delicious indeed

Word On The Street Part II is worth 16 dollars (or more) by itself. It's freaking glorious, totally bitching. Nice arrangement on the classic Just The Two Of Us, quality trumpet. Can't think of a bad track on this album. And too much sousaphone? Hehe, utterly impossible.

It's a brassy success -- the rhythems are rollicking and the music just sings! The only thing is, playing it in my car almost got me a speeding ticket.

Almost as good as real life.

Mama Digdown's must be seen live to be truly dug -- this band knows how to move a crowd -- but Delicious is as close to the real thing as you can get. Listen to this album and try not to bop.

I've never been disappointed in Mama Digdown's.... they always get me movin'. If you want something to hold you over until you can see them in person, this album is IT! Nothing beats seeing them in person, but this is the next best thing!
