Hailing from Chester, New York, singer/songwriter MaryAnne Marino began performing at talent shows in junior high school at the age of fifteen. She then fronted several cover bands before becoming the lead singer of the November Project and developing a dedicated following in the New York area. In the following years MaryAnne studied jazz voice at SUNY Purchase and continued to perform in theaters around the northeast, before teaming up with producer Peter Zizzo (Avril Lavigne, Celine Dion, Vanessa Carlton). This partnership spawned Marino's forthcoming debut album, which beautifully combines ambrosial melodies and rock edginess with her smooth and sultry vocals.

One of the best albums released (officially) in 2006. Should be getting major ai

A terrific cd. I think I've probably listened to it over 500 times (it's in my regular rotation of albums that I've been listening to). Great compositions; great voice (powerful and melodic); well produced album as well. Why the heck this cd isn't getting major airplay on radio stations tells you just how screwed up the music industry is. We keep getting fed the same old crap while an album like this one has to be accidentally discovered (I happened to be watching the local NYC cable music station (NY 360) and caught the last 10 seconds of MaryAnne Marino's video). Favorite songs are 'Conversation', 'It's Great', 'Subway', 'Solitaire', and 'Goodbye My Love'.
Marino is great live too! I've seen her three times. She lights up the room, has that great voice, and is a terrific guitar player to boot. Get this album!

Breathless Maryanne creates a beautiful masterpiece

This CD has been plugged into my stereo and hasn't left ever since. 'Ghost Of You' captures a warm vision of arriving to your front door after a long and exhausting day. Her voice is seductive and smooth to the ear. The record starts off with "For one moment" :
a song about a past relationship that had to end due to a departure, to "Dear Mom and Dad" : a strong, powerful song that touches the heart...to the closing soft ballard “Conversation" that only leaves you begging for more.
What A Beautiful piece of work. A must have for any music lover.

Excellent- deserves to be heard by many

A really good album with some engaging and thought-provoking songs -the quality is consistent throughout rather than being centered around one or two strong songs. Strong melodies, nice production, good singing...overall highly recommended!
