Album Notes

Mama’s Cookin’ has emerged on the scene with a sound that could only come from the modern age. Hip-hop beats and conscious lyrics melded with a solid base of rock and delta blues. The four players generate sounds completely unique to this band. Audiences across the country attest to the fact that this is dance music that inspires.

The group features Zebuel Early on guitar and vocals, Todd Holway on keyboards and vocals, Steve LaBella on bass, and Mike Adamo on drums and samples.

In early 2007 the band made their way to New York City to record their much anticipated third album. This self titled release is the first album from the new stripped down four-piece and features award-winning producers Chuck Zwicky (Prince/Jeff Beck) and Pete Miser (Dido) along with special guests Maya Azucena (Stephen Marley) and Traedonya (Large Professor). The project was finalized at Unity Mastering by Dave McNair (Stevie Ray Vaughn, Miles Davis, Bruce Springsteen and Willie Nelson).

Honest Tune Magazine voted this album one of 2007's top 20.

If you're looking for high energy, inspirational music with a truly conscious message, Mama's Cookin' is for you.

I saw Mama's Cookin' this April at Whistler when they played the Telus Ski and Snowboard Festival. They rocked it hard. I was very happy to find their CD here and it was shipped fast. I hope to see them in Seattle or on the West Coast sometime soon.

Mama's Cookin! Seriously... this album is chock full of sweet tunes, funky beats and mind-blowing lyrics. Artists hold the great responsibility of sharing their talent in a way that makes us THINK, so that our minds don't deteriorate. Cookin gives us this in the midst of some deep funk and bluesy groves. It's all in here. Their music moves my SOUL and their lyrics move my MIND. The boys are movin on UP!
