Album Notes

06/07 News! "Post Mortem" from the debut CD "Hide and Seek" a Just Plain Folks finalist for best song by a Female Singer-Songwriter! Check it out yourself and Thanks for supporting independent music!

Previous Highlights - a successful 7 town Northwest tour; performing with Hamza El Din and The Dead at the Greek Theatre's Jerry Garcia Memorial; a fall band road show to Pumpkin Fest in Oregon; a sold-out show at the Larkspur Cafe Theatre w/ an amazing band! This fall and winter is sure to bring a new batch of performances and songs. Check LisaMandelstein.com for more!

"Hide & Seek," Lisa Mandelstein's debut CD, is a moody, hopeful, sweet/spicy mix of songs. Lisa collaborated with two creative co-producers to make each song shine.

Christopher Krotky's strong percussion and unique bass tracks laid the foundation for dynamic yet intimate settings on the songs recorded at his studio (Atomic Tangerine Productions). Check out his arrangements of "Post-mortem" and "Hide and Seek"("Someone's Else's Crime" too)!

Tom Meshishnek records many San Francisco artists and for many years ran the standing-room-only underground music series, Mo's Melody Mansion. In a

ddition to recording talent, he always came up with the right sound at the right time (banjos & balalaikas & washboards, oh my).

Jeri Jones(www.blamesally.com), laid down languid guitar solos and some tasty slide to get things simmering. Pam Delgado, another Blame Sally gal, added percussion grooves for "Tip Jar" and "Spirograph." Check their website to hear Blame Sally's tight harmonies and uplifting lyrics!

Kelly Takunda Orphan sang backup vocals on two songs, including a smoking vocal to end "Someone Else's Crime." Get her amazing CD "Give It to the People!" right here at CDBaby.com!

Daniel Fabricant added jazz-tinged upright bass to "Grandma's Piano" and "Mariette." Alan Lin (Noe Venable; Vienna Teng) laid down violin tracks for the title song "Hide and Seek," from which Chris K created stunning interwoven parts. And, Julie Smolin, another amazing bay area musician, crafted the elegant violin parts on "Grandma's Piano" and "Spirograph."

The CD comes with a beautiful booklet: 10 pages with lyrics and original artwork by SteveLomprey.com.

I can listen to this cd 10 times in a row and still want to hear more. Half the songs on this cd stick in my head even when I'm away from it. I love the lyrics, the subjects of the songs and music. Lisa's guitar and piano, the drums, the back up vocals, the cello are beautiful together. It is all wonderfully put together. Bravo!
