notes
Twelve songs, some written before I was born, some within the last few years. With a heart for the past and an eye to the future, these songs are performed using contemporary sounds that let each song be exciting, inspiring, and relaxing all at the same time. As you listen, reflect and meditate on the past and future being always thankful for every thing.
"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Jesus Christ concerning you." I Thessalonians 5:18
Chuck Mandt is a results oriented teacher and pianist. He has always been a teacher. Armed with a BS in Secondary Education and an MS in Mathematics, he taught high school math for 10 years while almost finishing his doctorate. He left teaching to work 15 years for IBM in sales. His sales were the result of teaching his clients. As a business process consultant for 10 years, his success has been based on teaching. During all of those years however, he has worked to master his first love - playing the piano. After extensive classical and jazz training he began playing professionally in 1960 to pay for college expenses. He has performed classical concerts with the Dover Delaware Symphony and for organizations like the French Alliance of Delaware. He has performed in all kinds of clubs, restaurants, and country clubs. He has backed up name artists like Ray Eberle of the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Myron Floren of the Lawrence Welk Orchestra, and Anita Bryant. He has recorded on 5 records with artists like Sandy Merrill of the Sy Zentner Orchestra. He is a member of the Atlanta Musician's Union and the Christian Jazz Artists Network. And, yes, he has taught many classically trained adults to play jazz and improvise. He has conducted jazz improvisation workshops for organizations like the Atlanta Musicians Union and Roland Pianos.

This inspired Pianist's renditions transport you to a blissful repose!
author: Sooz ThomasWhat a lovely compilation of Gospel classics! These inspired piano renditions subtely envelop your mind and body in a sense of calm. And in this quiet calm, a sense of your own ties to Heaven come to the surface.
A great musical and very moving spiritual event
author: John SnellingsExperiencing "Gospel Favorites" by pianist Chuck Mandt is a great musical event and a very moving spiritual event. When you listen to the wonderfully new and exciting chord structure which he applies to these well known Christian songs, you realize that musical genius is at work. There are 47 minutes of our "church standards" with which you grew up . But our familiarity with them does not decrease the thrill of his treatment of these musical blessings of our faith. Just listen to "Holy Holy Holy" and watch the chill bumps appear!
Rich chordal structure, along with recognizable beautiful melodies of old.
author: Larry WisemanThis cd is a 5 course musical meal; one needs to take some time to digest what is really happening here; Chuck shares these beautiful melodies of old, along with his rich chordal variations and a insurmountable technique tying the two together. Enjoy the meal, but remember, this is not fast food, find a quiet time and place to take it all in.
Inspiring, soothing and inspirational
author: June DunaphantI am a church pianist myself as well as a professional jazz pianist. I am in awe of Chuck's God given talent. The selections are played with "Class and Style" but they are not lacking reverence. Let no one say that Christian Music can not touch the hearts of anyone who hears it. I look forward to more of his CD's. June Dunaphant
