Man from M.A.R.S.

Man from M.A.R.S. is space rock extraordinaire. Come on this journey through the cosmos; get ready to rock and get ready to fly, because this rocket ship is taking off. Man from M.A.R.S. crafts music that has all the jam power you could want from rock and roll and all the trippy qualities you could hope for from music with a metaphysical-psychedelic twist. Man from M.A.R.S. is as cosmic as the name implies.

Concept

"M.A.R.S. is a mysterious organization called the 'Man and Robot Society' whose chief agent is an artist and musician – Jeff Hopp – an expert of analog synthesis whose musical sound generators are the source of propulsion for the mighty starship The Oblivion."

Journey

Man from M.A.R.S. listens music that takes one on a trip and makes music that does the same. "I like to listen to and play music that takes you on a journey." Part of the journey is crafting just the right delicate balance of emotions that sends the mind skyward, creating transportational euphoria. "I like to listen to musicians who can evoke many different emotions and paint many different sonic landscapes. The more emotions and places a musician can conjure up, the more I find them interesting." The Man from M.A.R.S.' own music is interesting, to say the least. This artist conjures up emotional fusions that cause levitation of the mind, out of body experiences. This is the real deal.

Communication

Friends communicate with us and by so doing enrich our lives. The same is true for music. Why? "Music, and art in general, is a form of communication. I feel it can be used to enrich and elevate our lives to new levels of understanding." Man from M.A.R.S. writes music that inspires enlightenment. It rocks, but is also brings about meditative mindsets that enable self-exploration, for there is the true journey. "Artists should use their crafts to be a shaman. Music is a ritual, and it can be a vessel to take the mind and soul to great heights". To do this requires more than just by-rote playing of instruments. Soul must be poured into it, and talent and creativity. "Musicians that really inspire me are the ones that can take their instruments beyond just making notes and chords. Some musicians can turn their music into an experience and the listener gets taken away by it." Man from M.A.R.S. is one such musician.
