Album Notes

In an ever-changing attempt to always go the other way of what is "hip" in the San Diego muse-ACK! scene,
Mango fuse acoustic guitar, various electric guitar flavors, drum-bass combos and other worldly noises to create a sound that challenges new ears. There has to be a new area of the "envelope" that needs pushing. One needs to find the door to the "box", exit to the outside and start thinking, thinking about some
Mango juice!

highlite- licensing their song "?" for an episode of the
WB's "Felicity" tv show.

This artistic debut from the group Mango (made up of George Flores - Voice, Guitar, Keyboards and Bass, and Mike Kamoo Drums and Bass) is an outstanding Indy album. Mixing several distant musical styles from traditional Folk (pay attention to the amazingly simple beauty of a love song like Hello From my Planet) down to Experimental Electronica (in a track like Steganographia), with some alternative country influences thrown in (Highway of Love, Kansas). Standing out are tracks like the already mentioned Hello from my Planet, Highway of Love, Berzerker and the great song F & 3rd (with a style reminiscent of Stones' or even Dylan's early years!). Impressive!
