Album Notes

Mango Pirates is an Asian American alternative rock band from Los Angeles.

Since coming together at UCLA in the late-90s, Mango Pirates have found themselves on a steady track to success, due in part to their reputation for highly charged live performances, as well as multiple appearances on AsianAvenue.com’s widely distributed Plugged In compilation series. Emerging discretely from LA’s alternative rock scene, their presence has offered something positive and refreshing to a music genre not generally associated with the R&B-prone Asian American artists of today.

Every track on their debut album "Garage Surf" was written and produced by Mango Pirates, who collectively cite such musically diverse inspirations as Third Eye Blind, Billy Joel, Tonic, Cake, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica, and Sesame Street.

Though having undergone a few line-up changes over the years, the band is still currently writing more music to release in the near future.
