Album Notes

Manna is a traditional roots rock reggae band from Bodø, in the north of Norway. With their former band, Irie Darlings, they were the first band to put norwegian reggae on the charts on Jamaica. With Irie Darlings they toured Europe a couple of times, and also released an album recorded at Jamaica entitled Xaymaca. When Irie Darlings came to an end, they picked up the pieces and started Manna. This time around they switched out their english lyrics with norwegian, singing in their own native dialect. In 2006 they released their debut album called "Salma" (Hymns), to great praise and reviews. These are 12 songs about love, war, peace and Rastafari. Famous hip-hop act Tungtvann is doing guest appearances on some of the songs. Manna are currently working on their follow up album, and it's expected to be out in 2007.
