"There was an album that I wanted to hear and it didn't exist, so I wrote it" - Mano Reza
ManoReza Music presents: The Acid Jazz Project Vol 1. A conceptual jazz album featuring funky, esoteric instrumentals with recurring themes in multiple styles.
The Acid Jazz Project Vol 1 is the part 1 of a trilogy. Each volume will focus on specific areas of the Acid Jazz genre. Volume 1 is an overview of styles. Several areas are covered in this first volume including: Funk, Smooth Jazz, Latin Jazz and R&B/Soul.
The genesis of this project was the discovery by the composer of an album called Nuyorican Soul. The album features great music by several artists and captured the imagination of Mano Reza upon first listen. Starting from this first inspiration, Mano Reza began to compose an album that would eventually embody the influence of several artists including: Herbie Handcock, Paul Hardcastle, The Brand New Heavies, Carlos Santana, Incognito and others.
Highlights on this album include the groove heavy "Getting Started Part 1", the funky jazz twist on the blues progression called "Blue Minor 7th" and "The Construct" (Parts 1 and 2).
The Acid Jazz Project Vol 1 was made for lovers of good music to enjoy. Take a listen!
