The members of New York City band Man On Earth are not childhood friends, they didn’t meet in college nor have they known each other for years. In a city of 8 million strangers these four were driven together by a desire to say, create and accomplish something sonically unique and life aware. With a rare blend of accomplished musicianship propelling modern songwriting man on earth has been able to capture the attention of thousands of fans around the world almost completely on their own.

All Music Guide once described Man On Earth's sound as "melodic, post-Britpop sensibility with sharper-edged American guitar muscle, then tops it off with thoughtful (if anything, too thoughtful) lyrics… Surprisingly mature and far-reaching, the album is really too eclectic to simplify with easy comparisons."

Man On Earth's 2005 debut CD 'disposable sounds for the fickle mind' quickly went on to receive critical acclaim shortly after it’s release. The band toured extensively throughout 2005 in support of the CD and the storm of college radio airplay it had inspired. Over 300 college stations across the country began to play the CD as well as a dozen commercial stations sampling songs as their music was featured on FMQB's new music sampler.

After a number of successful shows at NYC's famous CBGB's and CB's Gallery the band was featured in Current TV's documentary special on the legendary club. Then as further spokesmen for the New York City music scene the band was featured on FUSE TV for its participation in the Virgin / Fuse TV sponsored Brit Bus Tour. The band supported a number of up and coming British artists when the tour stopped at the Knitting Factory in NYC.

Grass roots support for the band began to spread as music from the CD appeared on thousands of Independent Podcasts and the much praised U.K. animated video for ‘Come in Closer’ received over 100,000 plays through manonearth.com. In addition the band’s music has won numerous ‘track of the day’ and ‘track of the week’ awards on Garageband.com. The bands presence on community sites such as Myspace.com see the band interacting with thousands of fans and receiving hundreds of new “friend requests” a day.

In early 2006 the band released 'the Man On Earth EP’ a five song sampling of new songs recorded in the fall of 2005. The lead track 'It feels like...' instantly saw over 40,000 plays in four months on myspace and was used as the theme song in 2005's Indy cult classic movie 'klayworld: off the table'. The film further introduced the band to a worldwide audience that instantly gravitated toward the band thus pushing the legal downloads of the soundtrack for the film way past 35,000 copies in just 3 months. The songs popularity and instant connection with people quickly became obvious as the band was inundated with ‘home made’ videos from fans around the world for the song. ‘The Man On Earth EP’ also features a guest appearance by Stephen Pearcy from the multi-platinum 80's “metal god” band RATT who came down to lend his voice to the eclectic rock epic track 'So you're the genius behind this?' completely pushing the song over the top in its ambition. The story was shortly after featured in Metal Edge magazine.

Currently the band is recording new material with top major label Producer / Mixer Ken Lewis whose credits include 6 Grammy's, 38 Gold and Platinum albums / singles and 19 #1 albums and singles. Kens wide musical scope has brought him success with a wide array of artists from The Beastie Boys, Lenny Kravitz and Soul Asylum to Kanye West, Jay-Z and Usher among many others. The band started a close friendship and mutual appreciation with Ken after he had mixed most of the songs for man on earth’s debut CD. After seeing the band perform in early 2006 the two decided to finally team up and have Ken produce, record and mix the band. These ‘New adventures in sound’ are expected to be released independently in late summer 2006 with a few songs already slated to appear on another Independent movie soundtrack.

At one point the members of Man On Earth may have all been strangers but today they are four focused and driven individuals making up one band with a unified goal and drive to bring their music and vision to the world. After a successful run on their own man on earth has also finally decided to begin their search for the industry vehicles that will help them expose their music to a wider audience and the freedom to further explore their creativity.
