After considerable acclaim w/ his first solo CD, ( see RollingStone Review, Blues Revue Mag/ 2001, All Music Guide: Another Shade of Blue(s), and Bobby Manriquez/ Soundbytes ( at www.bobbymanriquez.com ) Bobby Manriquez has completed his second solo CD, "PRAYIN' the BLUES (blu funk)"
Humble thanks to the talented group of
artists whose support and taste helped
mold my project. It may be of interest to
know that:
Mike Stern's awesome and
nationally recognized style graced the bands of
Miles Davis, Jacco Pastorius and Blood, Sweat
and Tears. Gary Grainger was the "bomb" with
the bass on John Scofield's "Loud Jazz" CD.
Among Myles Mattison's 2003 tours were
Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Mariah
Carey, and the late Ray Charles. The Nighthawks would not be the
Nighthawks without the very distinguishable harp
playing of Mark Wenner. It would seem "Steady
Rollin" Bob Margolin's association with Muddy
Waters is a jacket he wears proudly, as do 1 with
players such as Chaka Khan's RUFUS bass-
backbone, Mr. "Tell Me Somethin' Good" himself,
Bobby Watson. Lastly, one of the nicest human
beings and one of the most talented, gifted
musicians I've had the privilege of knowing was
a player in Neil Young's band, as wet! as Beatle
Ringo Starr's band, and of course, a we)! known
personality in the super E-Street Band presently,
Nils Lofgren. Hopefully some of it will rub off on the rest of us;
Without further naming, there are no slouches among us :>)

How come the whole world doesn't know about this guy?!
author: Marc Leon
I heard about Bobby Manriquez via BluesWax online magazine, in an interview with Bob Magolin (who incidentally plays 'Slide' on one of the tracks here).
I was really impressed by the interview, so I checked out Bobby's site, had a listen to some samples and was immediately 'hooked'.
Bobby's playing is absolutely stunning. I also like the variety of styles covered as well as the songs and the production. Highly recommended for anyone who likes superb, heartfelt guitar playing!!

When I heard Heart to Give I had to buy this CD. I guess I was expecting more blues stuff, but still enjoyed the diversity and musicianship. Looking forward to buying another.
