This jazz trio plays an engaging, intriguing and fresh brand of contemporary jazz. Nice cohesion within the ensemble; very "spontaneous" and surprising. All original tunes by the trio's leader, two of them being based on standard chord progressions.

Short Bio :

Along with engagements in the Jazzfest, guitarist Marc-André Séguin has been performing in Montreal's greatest jazz venues (Upstairs, Dièse Onze, House of Jazz, etc.). Originally from Gatineau (Qc), he set foot solidly on the jazz scene since his arrival in Montreal (2005) and was awarded numerous grants and distinctions : Couleur Jazz award, 1st Grand Prix de Guitare de Montreal and has been nominated for the Oscar Peterson Scholarship Competition. This young musician even received a Jeunes Volontaires grant to get a career head start at writing for (and leading) his own jazz trio full-time. Still playing with top local jazzers (Frank Lozano, Clinton Ryder, Mark Nelson, Rick Rosato and many more), Marc-André is also the owner, editor and the "brains" behind JazzGuitarLessons-dot-net, the best free instructional jazz guitar website online.

Thank you for listening! / Merci de m'écouter!

What you hold in your hands is my first attempt at documenting and spreading recorded evidence of my skills as a composer and soloist on these beautiful vehicles for improvisation. Having already recorded numerous time for various projects, this EP sums up my personal artistic endeavors of the past few years. It's really the start of my solo career, to be honest! Enjoy.

J'aimerais remercier ma famille, Annick, mes nombreux "héros" ainsi que tous les musiciens, artistes et fantastiques êtres humains qui passent dans ma vie au quotidien. I thank God for having you all in my area of the Universe. Special "clins d'oeil" to: Frank, Clinton, Mark, Rick, Andrew, Alex, Marzcin et Alain.
