Album Notes

Marcelle McGuirk is a singer from Northeastern PA. She has studied her art since first joining her parish choir with her grandmother at the age of 3. She has gone on since then to singing for various events and, in the last year, recording her first solo album, Echoes of Ireland. She worked hard to research the history behind each piece on the album, to bring the most authentic Celtic flavor to each track. Her voice is the true, clear Irish sound, which is a rare commodity in the world of pop music. Marcelle has also written gorgeous, new vocal harmonies for most of the tracks, and collaborated with the other musicians in arranging the instrumentals. In tribute to her favorite music genre, Sacred Polyphony, she composed a polyphonic hymn based on the ancient Latin text, "Ave Maris Stella."

Marcelle also loves to perform on the stage for a live audience. She has won several vocal competitions, including the Eisteddfod, a local Welsh competition, in Edwardsville,PA. She currently is singing with her church choir, and performing locally with her pianist, Anthony George.

The album also features Celtic Harpist, Catherine Hicks, who placed in the 2005 NY Fladgh, for solo harp performance. Her winning piece, "The Rights of Man," is performed on the album.
