Marcelo stroll for the more varied styles and rhythms, telling about love, since ballads of the 50’s and 60’s, rocks, pops, gospels, specially Brazilian regionals as samba, forró, new bossa nova or even an acoustic or in international ones, always maintaining the rhythm of joy on singing the love.
Marcelo was born in São Paulo city where he studied and lived up to the moment he entered the University in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he moved to live, study, surf and make music.
Used to listen to his father playing the piano and speak English at home from his early ages he started to enjoy the American language and music from where he received a strong influence.
At College he lived together with different members of rock groups that became famous in the Brazilian music scene working as stage assistant and producer to many of these bands during same years until begun to play and sing his own music and sound.
Always around an artistic environment he worked in cinema, TV direction and production until a great misfortune struck his life and made him need God.
In a Christian church , he started to take part in choirs and church singing, until one day he started to wake up in the middle of the night listening to ready made songs and lyrics, messages which soon he found out to be authentic to several biblical passages.
He recorded his first gospel experiences through the Church, as he started to feel better with this new gift. He also started to show his romantic side always in a positive and happy way revealing in his lyrics a happy and deep optimist.
The influence of a life always connected to music, specially rock music, made Marcelo give his songs vibrant styles and rhythm, happy and varied hits in his songs in the two universes, the gospel as well as the romantic.
Travelling around Brazil, he received the influence of several styles of its rich musical culture and today he chooses his musicians and the recording studios, always in the Northeast of Brazil where the swing and the rhythms, which he has sought, are.
Marcelo is launching another CD in 2006, the first for been sold by internet through CDBaby.com (www.cdbaby.com) , the romantic and energetic POPLOVE, this universe he goes through easily and with intimacy.
He composes and sings both in English and Portuguese, always playing versions or translations made for most of the songs in each record.
