Marcia Golding, a great performer who is extraordinary and energetic. Her stage appearance is dynamic and her audiences are captivated by her music and the meaningful messages in her songs.
She was born and raised in Kingston Jamaica but Ottawa, Canada is her home for many years. As a budding curious child, she never wavered from her life long dream of becoming a singer.
Growing up in the island paradise enabled her to be in constant contact with the smooth rhythms, of Reggae, Ska, Rock Steady, Dancehall, Soul and gospel music. She had appeared on different shows including the Tastee Talent show in Kingston, Jamaica and she had performed in Montreal, Canada with local bands.
Surrounded by these rhythms there was never a stage she declined; never an opportunity missed to showcase her musical prowess. Music is a part of her fabric, part of her being even though with a pronounced stutter, which often kept most people from ever stepping on stage and which often prevented her from speaking fluently.
It may take her two minutes to say a full sentence but with her dedication, determination and her love for music she never back away from this challenge. She gives it her all and with everything she’s got.
Her passion for music inspires her to write her own songs an eclectic mix of Rhythms & Blues, Roots and Reggae. It is truly a magical feeling for an artist to write their own original materials that portrays the essence of who they are. It is Marcia’s dream to share herself with the public through her music. It was time to take her songs to the next level and in 1990 she started recording in Montreal, singing in a band and performed locally.
In 1991 Marcia moved to Aylmer, Quebec and continued with her recording in Ottawa, however, she paused her musical career for fifteen years because she was blessed with the arrival of her children two of the most precious gifts in her life, her son and daughter.
Family is her number one priority and comes first above all things. On Marcia’s debut CD which is entitled “I Want To Tell You” One of her song is called “I Love You My Children” This is dedicated to her kids. This song truly depicts the bond and the relationship that forms between parent and child. She composed it out of reflecting on the love that has continually blossomed as her children grew. The emotional bond kept them close to her heart.
It’s a wonderful feeling when a parent can derive the strength from the love they place in the welfare of their kids. It’s her way of saying thanks to her children.
Love conquers all and writing these songs expresses the way Marcia see the world and the love in her heart for everyone. Peace, love and happiness to you.
