Album Notes

Marcia Louis has spent her entire life singing to children. For the past twenty years she has been teaching at over 20 different nursery schools in Fairfield County, Connecticut, and has performed at hundreds of Libraries, Concerts, Parties and Special Events throughout the area. She has also been the featured performer in the annual Norwalk Oyster Festival for the past 17 years. Dancin' With Mr. Bones is a collection of the songs, games and stories Marcia sings to her students each Halloween. They are ideally suited for ages 2-7 to introduce little ones to the fun of Halloween without the fright. The songs are funny, witty, silly and singable, and best of all, they are enjoyable for grownups, too!
Although the songs are geared to young children, Marcia's music is sprinkled with humor and wit to delight parents as well. The discerning listener will hear subtle hints of many other musicians, from Prince, James Brown, Peggy Lee,and Edvard Grieg to the Grateful Dead, and musical styles from jazz, classical, and traditional folk to gypsy music. The bonus track, Tootie-Ta is, as one Mommy described it, "A Picnic of Percussion".
If you have a young one, this is a joyous, rollicking introduction to Halloween that your child will insist on listening to all year long!

When I listened to Mr. Bones I found myself (and I am an adult) enjoying the songs as much as any child. This is a real treat-and Marcia--you have a real gift/talent--my favorite is Five litte bats

This is Marcia Louis' best yet. The young ones near me just loved it (and some of the older ones, too)."Pass the Witch's Broomstick" and "One Little Skeleton" were particular favorites. My 4-year-old friend broke out into a hopping frenzy with the Little Skeletons. This is great for any family looking for something totally original.

It's merry-not-scary for tiny tots. But the real "trick" is that Ms. Louis created a "treat" that's fun for young children and satisfying for the adult listener. Bravo!
