Singer-songwriter Marcia Ramirez puts out another cd that is both lyrically thought provoking, and musically easy to listen to. Cool grooves and catchy melodies help capture the lyric content beautifully in each song. From the spunky "Lonely Town" to the acceptance of self in "I Met Someone Today" to her version of "You Belong In The Sun" (a song she wrote that was originally recorded on Jo Dee Messina's Greatest Hits) this cd is a perfect compliment to her first cd, "Compromise".

Really fine music!
author: Doug Morris, Indie Music Appreciation Group
If you didn't get a copy of Marcia's first album or if you haven't caught her in a live performance somewhere, then you probably don't know that in addition to being a prolific and excellent songwriter who has had several songs recorded by Nashville artists, she also happens to have a wonderful voice and can sing better than some of her major label contemporaries! The album contains 8 tracks of some VERY good music! I have been really enjoying them for days now and have decided that the list of my favorite songs starts with the toe-tapping country rocker titled "Lonely Town", which in truth should have Marcia on the country charts as a performer because she really belts it out good! The same could be said of another rock tempo song titled "Wild Horses Run" which is all about living your life freely. Yeah! My favorites list also includes the ballad type songs "Tempted", "I Met Someone Today", "Broken Star", and "It Must Be Birmingham". All of these songs show that Marcia has the kind of vocal talent that should have CMA trophies covering her mantle! The 2001 release "Compromise" is out of print and Marcia's next formal album is still in the works for later on in the fall of 2006 and I'll bet it's going to be good, but in the meantime, you should latch onto a copy of "The Barefoot Sessions" while it's available folks. It's a definite collector's album and who knows how long you'll be able to find one. Thanks for the music, Marcia!

Things just get better and better.....
author: Tammie
This is Marcia's second album and like most things worth having, fine wine, antiques, etc - she just gets better and better as time goes on.
"Tempted" is a poignant tune about the hardships of walking away from a difficult relationship and how no matter how bad - you're tempted to return.
She takes us to an unexpected place in "Met Someone Today", a song about self acceptance.
"Lonely Town" is a rocking number with a fantastic guitar solo!
Do yourself a favor and check this CD out....it's amazing!
