Album Notes

Marc Miller was born in Texas but grew up in the sixties in New York.

His musical education was greatly affected by the sixties Greenwich Village coffee house scene as well as Harlem blues dives and jazz clubs.

Having immigrated to Israel in 1968, he has over the years made forays, sometimes triumphant, into the local Anglo folk scene while hanging on to his day job.

He continues to improve his skills and widen the range of his repertoire, often in collaboration with other local musicians.

While preferring to be recognized for his sensitive and perspicacious interpretations of the likes of W.C. Handy and Jelly Roll Morton, he falls back on crowd-pleasing humorous material to maintain audience attention, covering the likes of Mose Allison, Willy Dixon and Kinky Friedman in addition to his own concoctions.

Marc claims a very small but growing and very loyal following of aficionados of his music and distinctive presentation.

The 15 songs on this album reflect the eclectic range of his interest: from Jelly Roll Morton to The Eagles, from Jim Croce to Mose Allison.

very intimate almost naked in its bare honest approach.Fun to boot obvious Mr. Miller loves what he does and he ain't to old to rock and roll.Quite the dirty bitchen daddy,he is.

Better than "My G-d, How the Money Rolls In!"

Silvery, thin, round with a little hole in the middle; sort of reminiscent of the old black vinyl 45's we'd spin around the time I first heard this artist perform, but a bit smaller (the disc, not the artist!) The tunes probably aren't quite as controversial, but then I haven't listened to the album yet. If he's half as good as Flo Handy.......

Gutsupfromtheankle! Marc doesn't just sing blues, he IS blues.
author: Ray Scudero, Argaman Studios

Simply produced, Marc stands solidly on his own to send a rolling blue haze dancing through the listener's soul and mind. Mixing frills would have only served to contaminate the very basic and guts-up-from-the-ankle delivery that stems straight from the seat of the soul. My only complaint is that he has underpriced his work.
