To mark the 40th Anniversary of Bossa Nova Marcos Valle, the original ‘boy from Ipanema” and one of the most important composers and innovators in this genre, returns with his first album in ten years.

Marcos Valle’s career has stretched some three decades. He has written numerous bossa standards including Summer Samba and The Crickets sing for Ana Maria, two of the most successful and most covered Brazilian songs of all time. He has collaborated with Sarah Vaughan, Chicago and Leon Ware at different points in his career and has earned numerous awards for his contribution towards the furtherance of Brazilian culture.

Nova Bossa Nova , sees Marcos develop a new funkier sound which brings bossa bouncing back into the Nineties. It captures the spirit of his early recordings with tunes like Frieo Aerodynamico, through to the title track Nova Bossa Nova , a tale of modern day life. Other gems include Bar Ingles an instrumental jazz fusion looper with programmed beats and A Vontade de Rever Voce a beautiful love ballad.

The album is a panoramic view of a career which was so fundamental in the defining the standard of bossa back in the Sixties and continues to be so now in the late Nineties.
