Album Notes

‘Wind River Range is a beautifully radiant soundscape!’

From the Musician:

Here is my Second album in a series of three albums that I call the ‘Existence Series’

I am so proud to bring you this second latest instrumental CD I called ‘Wind River Range’.

Like my first album, I felt inspired by invisible musical friends that helped me channel this really awesome music. Wind River Range is patterned much like my original Earthly Light album, except that I was able to upgrade my studio and recording equipment to a much better system. This means that this latest album was encoded with VAST encoding techniques, dozens of more layered instruments and a better mastered recording, that bring out every nuance of the sounds.

Never being formally trained with instruments or even the piano, I was so amazed at the finished product. I had no idea I could accomplish such an awesome piece of work. I truly channeled the Music from some other realm as I honestly don’t play the piano and other instruments well. Of the instruments I used, such as the Harp and Flute, I relied heavily on my professional digital piano and Korg music synthesizer to make each song real and full of spirit.

From the Music Producers National review 11/07 of Marc’s Albums:

Marc Peterson brings you an ambient sounding, all instrumental approach to what he calls his ‘spirit music’. We would say that it is a more ambient style, flowing style of music, that doesn’t seem very ‘New Age’ like at all. We would say it is a cross between the Instrumental Ambient category and the New Age category. These albums songs include sounds from piano, harp, flute, French horn and soft guitar rifts. Add these sounds layered on top of synthesized sound waves, and you have Peterson’s work summed up.

Petersons lack of formal musical training on the piano or synthesizer doesn’t seem to raise any eyebrows while one listens to the albums flowing sounds that converge eloquently together. Just as if he recorded it professionally. When one realizes he actually played and recorded the entire album in his spare bedroom / home studio, one can only look forward to his next project!

Peterson said he named this album ‘Earthly Light’ because he feels that the Earth is alive with spirit energy. While we are unsure of Peterson’s spiritual views and beliefs, one thing is certain, the ‘energy’ he speaks of comes through loud and clear to any listener who is lucky enough to hear.

In summary, several Review Team members took Peterson’s work home and a few did not want to return the demos.

A Different Realm
author: Anthony Hair
Where his first album, Earthly Light was a wonderful spiritual journey, this second album takes both the listener and Peterson's talents into a different realm. This album is particularly helpful at calming the restless soul and I recommend it for anyone who might need some spiritual R&R.

So far this is my favorite of Mr. Peterson's inventive audio productions, and the one to which I enjoy falling asleep. I generally have trouble falling asleep at all, but this has helped tremendously with that; I find it very relaxing.
