Album Notes

Marc Tyson was born in May 1976. Already at the age of five, Marc made his first loud music experiments on his mother's guitar. With 8 years, he had his first public appearance. At the age of 12 he took to Europe's stages and hasn't stopped since! He grew up with bluegrass and has found his own style, ranking from new country, rock 'n roll and folk. He can’t and he won’t hide his roots in bluegrassmusic.

Here are some of the musicians/band that influenced Marc: Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, Rufus Wainwright, Ron Sexsmith, Garth Brooks, Townes van Zandt, Johnny Cash, Bon Jovi, Alan Jackson, Gary Allan, Tim McGraw, Mark Chesnutt, Bob Dylan and many more ...

But he never tried to copy somebody because in every case there is only one original :-) Over his schooltime he played in different bands like Old Number Seven and the Green Mountain Boys.

But to catagorize him is very hard and also not necessarily. The best way to describe his style are the words acoustic singer, songwriter, roots music or new american music.

Since the last years he was working not only on stage. Behind the curtain he do a lot of things as songwriter, publisher and producer. His label Tyson Records is also the home of some other artists. In the 90’s was often the guest at clubs, pubs and festivals all over in Europe.

Mostly on tour and sometimes around 30 gigs per month Marc was producing also in the studio. This was not the best healthy way and so after longer illness and a 3 years obligation break he is back again now.

Since 2003 he is on the road again with the boys of his tour band “the bad time murders” and also with different duo- and trio-projects. 2005/06 he was performing in a lot of towns in Europe like Vienna, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin and Zurich.

Sit back, pour yourself a cup and chill. Marc and his band “the bad time murders” have released their new CD. “One More Try – the acoustic sessions” is the title of his newest release. This is the best CD I have listened to in a long time. The album communicates his thoughts and emotions better than previous releases. His sound is though to classify. It’s a mix of acoustic, country and folk. His music comes straight from the heart and I love to hear to his voice. The album’s solid instrumental backgrounds complement Marc’s energetic vocals. “One More Try” is a sparkling and memorable production of covered and his own written songs. The CD’s best song is “One more try”. written by Tommy
