"They say kids don’t listen to the radio anymore, but teenager Margot MacDonald has somehow absorbed all the lessons of Top 40 female vocalists for the past 30 years. Her growls and yowls and wails embody the heritage of everyone from Stevie Nicks to Whitney Houston to Sheryl Crow. Amazingly this is her second album, issued when she was 15, and backing her voice with a lot of straightforward hard rock guitar ..." On Tap Magazine 7-2007
Only 15, Margot continues to evolve as an artist and is already at work on new projects.

Cool-ness
author: Kenneth M Burke
My introduction to Margot MacDonald was through My Space. Honestly, it took me a little while to tune my ear to her album Torn. Coming to her music, a listener needs to take the time to listen without any pre-conceived notions as her youthful demeanor blossoms with an entrancing adult voice, accompanied by solid musical talent and engaging lyrics. The first five songs of the album into the sixth build progressively, showcasing her musical potential. The first three songs work harmoniously together into the fourth, “Liberty.” The fifth song might slink past the listener into the sixth. The seventh takes on a somewhat dissimilar personality as the last songs have the strength and momentum of the first with a slightly different tone in identity to her audience. The album is nevertheless overall cohesive and the CD plays nicely on random.
Young in heart and mind but almost with a tone of adult reflexivity, Margot proves to be mature in her music. She also has a lot of time and promise to progress. The album is musically geared to an audience of a cultured genre and it would be interesting to see Margot explore her world a little more. Certainly, she has much of an audience to discover her magnetism into the future of her career. This listener will be looking forward to see how she and her talents are to grow sustainably with the development of her music.
Shrugs, like I'm a music critic or something, Kenneth
