Considered Texas’ finest all female mariachi, Las Alteñas has been captivating audiences throughout the United States since 2002. These 10 remarkably talented beauties are brought together by their passion to perform and promote the majesty of mariachi music. Known for their dazzling stage presence, musical performances and strong harmonious vocals, Mariachi Las Alteñas appeals to audiences of all generations and heritages.
Under the direction of Valerie Vargas and the musical direction of Cirilo Campos, Mariachi Las Alteñas’ performances are in high demand throughout Texas and the rest of the U.S. They have performed at many prestigious events and venues, most notably the famous Mariachi USA Festival at the world renowned Hollywood Bowl in Hollywood, California for three consecutive years and also at the AVA Amphitheater in Tucson, Arizona. They have performed at the 16th Annual Mariachi Spectacular in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Viva El Mariachi Festival in San Diego, California alongside Mariachi Sol de Mexico, at the LULAC National Convention in Little Rock, Arkansas alongside Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan, and at the popular Mexican Fiesta in Milwaukee, WI. For 2 consecutive years in Houston, Texas they mesmerized a crowd of over 67,000 fans at the annual Go Tejano Mariachi Competition where they proudly brought home 1st Place for “Best Mariachi”, and have been nominated several times for Premios a la Musica Latina in different regions. Other notable performances have been in Memphis, TN, Chicago, IL, Las Vegas, NV, Kansas City, KS, Kansas City, MO, Hobbs, NM, Oklahoma City, OK and of course all throughout Texas. They have also accompanied the legendary el Trio Los Panchos in concert, and have been featured in several radio, television and print appearances locally.
In a predominantly male industry, this all female mariachi has made its’ mark. Las Alteñas’ attractiveness goes beyond their songs: they animate audiences to applaud with joy and emotion. In short, they‘ll steal your heart. They’re young, they’re driven, and with them, every night is ladies night.
