ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Songs on this CD highlight case histories of cruelty and the abandonment of our canine friends who are often the victims of humanity's anger, neglect, exploitation and ignorance.

This album is dedicated to Kestane, (featured on the CD cover). Kestane (aka little Chestnut) was a beautiful stray pup who grew up alone and scared on the streets of Turkey, she was rescued by a voluntary group called TARO (Turkish Animal Rescue Organisation) and she is now living a happy, safe and fulfilled life in a forever home in the UK, she is loved and cherished as all dogs should be.

Biog:

Maria Daines is a multi-award winning International vocalist and songwriter whose band opened for US artist Pink at Cardiff International Arena for the Party For Animals World Wide concert in August 2007, the last date of Pink's 'I'm Not Dead' tour. The concert raised over £90,000 for six animal welfare charities. Based in the UK, Maria and her guitarist/producer Paul Killington write songs in many genres, including rock, country, folk, blues and soul.

Daines/Killington songs are published by North Star Music and feature in several film documentaries, including Saving America's Horses, A Minority Pastime and Dark Water Rising, the survival stories of family pets rescued during hurricane Katrina.

Maria Daines Is The Ideal Voice For the Voiceless
Maria Daines fuses blues, rock, country and folk as her incredible vocals resonate with yearning, compassion and benevolence for animals. Her eclectic voice is emotive, spirited, poignant, eternally resonant and replete with pathos. Every song is priceless and the nonpareil tracks are "Stray", "Lennox" and the astounding "Where Do All The Angels Go." Her huspand Paul Killington bolsters all the songs with his highly skilled guitar virtuosity and riffs. Maria Daines is my favorite female singer in the music industry.
