This talented angel named Maria Pascoal Da Silva, born in Luanda-Angola. When very little she has been introduced to the show business, at the age of 7 years old, she made her first appearance on stage. She used to be part of a dance group. Since then, she started gaining love for music, dance and poetry.
At 15 years old she started writing songs, her role models at that time were; Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Patty Labelle, and some African singers like: Miriam Makeba, Tchala Muana, Mpongo Love and Etc... At the age of 18 she started working as a back up singer and a song writer for several African groups and solo artist in Angola such as; SSP, O2, Eduardo Pain, Don Kikas, Beto Max, General D, and she also worked with several Cuban musicians and singers such as; Sexto Sentido, Roberto Foseca, Obsecion, Alexis and etc...
She sings about life, love, pain, and happiness. She writes about the reality, true love not about fantasy, which are not always perfect. Through her songs, she talks about her life experience, which all of us can be relate. Living in Canada she keeps pursuing her music career. In 2002, Maria signed her first record deal with Mich2050-Music. Being impressed by her potential, they decided to give priority to a project with her by recording a Zouk album in Portuguese, Spanish, English, and French.
The Album is called "Imprevisivel", (Unpredictable) which has 14 songs. For the first time, at the Miss Angola Canada she performed a few songs of her album, and the public was very impressed with her talent. With herself confident, she believes in her possibilities. This album it's a fusion between R&b and Zouk, Unpredictable, because of the lyrics and the sounds. Unpredictable, because life is more interesting when thing's are unpredictable...
Not only she has already a serious background she's also popular in her native land, the fourth song on the album "Muito Pouco Homen" is being play in most radio stations in her country in particular Luanda and in some radio stations community in Montreal. And soon in Toronto and everywhere in Canada.
She is compared to the Spanish singer Selena, Jennifer Lopez and more.., one said that the musical industry needs people like her to advanced, because she especially brings a new key in her music in this particular style "zouk/R&b".
She is continually writing songs and melodies, and that's only the beginning of a new dimension...
