"In a community where individuals struggle to be identified and accepted, each member must contribute a part of himself or herself to become recognized. In a perfect world, each other person then takes responsibility to acknowledge and encourage the contributor through praise or financial reward, thus allowing the ultimate definition of the group through the successes of each of its members."

Maria Mclean studied piano performance under the guidance of Dr. Louis Galanffy, Central Texas artist in residence for 5 years and continued her studies over the years at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Texas Wesleyan University, the University of North Texas, and Texas Womern's University. Ms. Mclean is a degreed teacher, performer, and composerand has produced numerous recordings over the years, continuing to discover new and varied styles of rhythms and sounds to enhance her musical styles.

Ms. Mclean believes that sounds express deeply subconcious ideas, feelings and thoughts, and it is with this in mind that she has portrayed the sound images of love within the music, reflected in "Beyond My Soul Dream."

Ms. Mclean is a long-standing member of the Mid-Cities Music Teachers Association and is chairman of the annual local Original Composition Contest. Piano Journey, a music learning program that Ms. Mclean has developed, is successful and has produced a large number of advanced level performers and composers.
