Marie Brown is a spoken word artist, a story teller
and song writer. "Homegrown" is part 2 in the love
story of Ruby and Chuck. "Homegrown" tells about the
neighborhood Ruby and Chuck live in. The neighborhood
Marie lives in. Perhaps it may resemble the
neighborhood you the listener live in. Her debut c.d.
entitled "Ruby Do Hair" told the listeners all about
Rubys love life and her children."Homegrown"describes
their neighbors.
Marie Brown not only performs her poetry, she lives it
and does more than write about pain and suffering.
The "Ruby Do Hair" sales Marie donates 10% to the Grip
organization who assists victims of rape in Cape Town
South Africa. Marie began this mission in 2002 after
writing a poem entitled "Idiot Splinter".Marie
considers herself unpredictable, unable to label. So
