Marie's Children: If the Violent Femmes, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers were riding together in a van to go see an Ani Difranco show.... They might pop in "at play." Marie's Children: "Are house-broken. They make excellent house guests when they are on tour. They did not steal a thing." Marie's Children: "Live shows are a circus! Annual Pajama parties, Cash and Can food drive shows for the homeless, people jumping up and dancing on stage out of control. What the hell is going on? What do they think they are doing?? Oh yeah. Rock and roll." Marie's Children- about "at play." We very much wanted to record a whole album. Not just a few singles wrapped in whatever. We are so grateful to the awesome people who have been so supportive of what we do. We are quite aware of what it means these days for someone to spend money, and take time out of their lives to support a band. So we wanted our album to sound like us hanging out with everyone. Sharing serious fun, serious anger, frustrations about school, work, family, politics, sex....life, and everything else that make these times "interesting."
